To handle this challenge we use the theory of recognition and theory of dual inheritance. The empirical part was secured by the data
obtained from the quilombola communities of the Marajó archipelago, in the Brazilian Amazon, who are going through a process of struggle for recognition of socio-territorial rights. This is the context in which our research is situated. The efforts so far undertaken have demonstrated how the so-called evolution of the normative mind of human beings is noticeable in the political behavior of social actors of the evidenced communities.
